The triptych was reissued with Kuniyoshi’s signature and numerous alterations for the production of Kamakura yamasakura no gosho zome (鎌倉山桜御所染) in the 3rd month of 1848:

 

 

All three triptychs bear the seals of the censors Muramatsu and Yoshimura, which are appropriate for the earliest date.  I am grateful to Robert Pryor for information about these triptychs.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston has banzuke (theater programs) indicating that the part of Kôsuke was played by Ichimura Uzaemon XII, but the drawing of the actor’s face suggests Bandô Shûka I, who was also in the play in other roles.
