This series shows fantasized performances of the top-spinner Takezawa Toji (竹澤 藤次).  It is listed as number 208 in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961).  The prints are each about 14 by 10 inches (36 by 25 centimeters), a size known as ôban

This alternate state of the above design, without clouds and with a different text, has two censor’s seals, indicating a republication date of 1846-1852.
