A Collection of Warrior Rebuses

(Musha zukushi hanjimono, 武者尽はんじもの)

Publisher: Wakasa-ya Yoichi

1849-1851

A rebus is a puzzle in which names or words are represented by combinations of pictures. This series is not listed in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961).  The prints are each about 14 by 10 inches (36 by 25 centimeters), a size known as ôban.  The titles of the individual prints vary slightly.
