NOTE: According to the website of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, this triptych is apparently an imaginary recasting, with some of the role names slightly changed, of the play Genji Moyô furisada hinagata, produced at the Ichimura Theater in the 9th month of 1851.  I am grateful to Lucienne Parkan for information about this triptych.
