This series of fan prints (uchiwa) is not listed in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961).

 

Title: Analogy of Akegarasu (Mitate Akegarasu, 見立明がらす)

Description: Woman playing a shamisen

 

NOTE: “Akegarasu” literally translates as “daybreak sound of a crow”, but it is also the title of a poetry anthology published in 1773.
