This series is not listed in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961).  The images are each about 7 by 10 inches (18 by 25 centimeters), a size known as chûban.  Two images were printed on a sheet of paper about 14 by 10 inches (36 by 25 centimeters), a size known as ôban.  

 

 

Title: Jigoku (Hell, 地ごく)

Description: A devil with hôzuki (鬼灯, demonic flames)

Title: Toitagaeshi (戸いたがえし)

Description: A scene from the kabuki play Tôkaidô yotsuya kaidan employing a toitagaeshi (a stage prop consisting of a revolving panel with a life-size manikin on each side)

Title: Kasane at the Kinu River (Kinugawa no kasane, きぬ川のかさね)

Description: A ghost under a willow tree along the riverbank is bending over a samurai who is hiding a sickle
