Nan-nyo no ryoji

This series is listed as being by Kuniyoshi on page 53 of Japanese Shunga of Kuniyoshi by Yoshihiko Shirakura, 2012, Heibonsha Ltd., Tokyo. The prints are each about 3½ by 4¾ inches (9 by 12 centimeters), a size known as koban. The complete set of 12 prints is from an American private collection.

This series is a parody of Kuniyoshi’s triptych “A Great Doctor Treats Serious Diseases” (Kitai na meii nanbyô ryôji, きたいなめい医 難病療治).
