Publisher: Masuda-ya Ginjirô
1851-1852
Snow, moon, and flowers (setsu gekka, 雪月花) is a common theme in Japanese art that is derived from a poem by Tang dynasty poet Bai Juyi. This series is not listed in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961). The prints are about 14 by 10 inches (36 by 25 centimeters), a size known as ôban. |
